Nepali Judo Team Departs For Bangladesh

May 22, Kathmandu- A 14-member Nepali team, including 12 players, left for Dhaka, Bangladesh on Thursday to participate in the Bangladesh Krira Shiksha Pratisthan (BKSP) Judo Championship.

12 players, including 7 men and 5 women, will compete in the competition to be held from May 25 to 26.

The men's under 45 kg category is Riwaz Lama Tamang, under 50 kg category is Sabhar Poudel, under 55 kg category is Buddha Gurung, under 60 kg category is Sabin Kumar Diyali, under 66 kg category is Bishesh BK, under 73 kg category is Prayas Tamang and over 73 kg category is Bigyan Khatri.

The women's under 44 kg category is Samita Nepali, under 48 kg category is Nisha Shrestha, under 52 kg category is Binita Nepali, under 57 kg category is Pema Yangji Sherpa and under 63 kg category is Rekha Shrestha.

Among the 12 participating players, Samita, Nisha, Binita, Pema and Sabin, 5 are from the Prisoner's Assistance Nepal (PAN). The coaches are Radha Devi Rai and Laxmi Tamang. Radha will also serve as a judge in the competition, according to Nepal Judo Association President Deepak Harsh Vajracharya.
