Jeep accident in Taplejung: Nine injured

May 23, Kathmandu- Nine people, including the driver, have been injured in a Bolero jeep accident in Taplejung. According to police, the jeep was heading from Nalbu, Meringden Rural Municipality-6, to the district headquarters, Phungling, when the accident occurred.

According to Taplejung Police Chief Deputy Superintendent of Police Bed Prasad Gautam, the accident occurred when a Bolero jeep bearing the number Ja 1 Cha 1317 failed to brake at Sakfara in Santhakra, the same rural municipality-2. The driver, 25-year-old Sange Sherpa of Nalbu, Meringden rural municipality-6, was injured in the jeep accident that occurred around 11:15 am on Friday. The driver, Sherpa, has suffered a head injury.

Similarly, the passengers in the jeep, 17-year-old Dawa Sherpa, 68-year-old Bhim Kumar Limbu, 24-year-old Anjana Sherpa and 26-year-old Chhunu Mabo Limbu, were injured, Pranau Gautam informed. Dawachungda Sherpa, 17-year-old, Furlamu Sherpa, 23-year-old, Guba Sherpa and 24-year-old Pramila Sherpa of Change, Aathrai Tribeni Rural Municipality-5 have been injured. According to him, all the injured have suffered injuries to various parts of their bodies, including the head, hands, legs, chin and stomach.

The injured in the accident are being taken to the District Hospital in Taplejung for treatment via an ambulance from Meringden Rural Municipality, the police said. After receiving information about the accident involving a jeep carrying nine passengers, a police team led by Police Inspector Om Prakash Pandit from the Area Police Office, Change Dobhan, immediately reached the spot.
