May 23, Kathmandu- Nepali Congress Chairman Sher Bahadur Deuba has said that the Congress is firm on the issue of bringing the Education Act and the Civil Service Act.
Speaking at a program on ‘Workers’ Matters for Professional Respect, Security and Decent Work’ organized by the Nepali Congress Labor and Trade Union Department, Deuba said that there have been complaints about problems in the implementation of labor laws. He clarified that the Congress will take necessary initiatives in the implementation of the Labor Act.
"The Nepali Congress is determined to introduce the Education Act and the Civil Act," said Deuba, "There is a complaint that there is a problem in the implementation of the laws in the labor sector." "There are complaints that there are problems in the implementation of labor laws. The Congress will take the initiative to resolve them."
Stating that the distribution of social security allowances should also be done according to the socialist concept, he stressed the need to ensure that the disabled, infirm and poor people can easily access them.
Deuba also expressed the view that it is necessary to amend the law and implement it in practice with the aim of making the contribution-based social security scheme easier for workers working in the unorganized sector.
