May 25, Kathmandu- The seventh tournament under the Surya Nepal Golf Tour 2024-25, the Surya Nepal Challenge Pro-Am, has been won by professional player Rame Magar's team. Rame's team won the title at the Royal Nepal Golf Club with 124 points. Amateur golfers Satyajung Rana scored 44, Saroj Thapa 41 and Anjila Yonjan 39.
Pro Bhuvan Nagarkoti's team has secured second place with 117 points. The team's amateur players Rabindra Purush Dhakal, Mukti Sen Gurung and Tara Karki Chitrakar scored 39 points each.
Similarly, Prof. Ramesh Adhikari's team finished third with a score of 114. Amateur players Swapnil Bhattarai scored 39, Phunsuk Norbu Lama scored 38 and Swadesh Gurung scored 37.
In the women's category, Anjali Yonjan won the trophy by defeating national team player Tara Karki Chitrakar on count back with a score of 39. Similarly, Jhalendra Bhattarai won the title of Longest Drive and Phunsuk Norbu Lama won the title of Closest to the Pin. A total of 90 amateur golfers participated in the Pro-Am.
Royal Nepal Golf Club President Madhukar Yakthumba, NPGA President Rabindraman Shrestha and Royal Nepal Golf Club Captain Mithun Rai distributed prizes to the winning players.
Dharan's Prof Shukra Bahadur Rai won the Surya Nepal Challenge title on Saturday with a course record. He won the title by defeating Neeraj Tamang by four strokes with an impressive overall score of 17-under 255. Now, the eighth and final tournament under the Surya Nepal Golf Tour 2024-25, the Surya Nepal Premier, will be held at the Gokarna Golf Club from June 10 to 13. The Pro-Am is scheduled to be held on June 14.
