Indo-Nepal CSR Summit Concludes

May 25, Kathmandu- The Indo-Nepal CSR Summit has been concluded with the aim of strengthening the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) sector and promoting Nepal-India cooperation.

Inaugurating the program, Deputy Speaker Indira Rana said that the spending of CSR funds in Nepal is not very effective and corporate companies are not paying attention to it. She said that CSR programs can have a big impact and many Nepali society can benefit.

“We are having discussions to formulate a CSR policy. The corporate community also needs to debate this. CSR is not just about money. It is also a duty of business and social service,” she said.

Ravi Rayavaram, Vice President of Nepal India Chamber of Commerce and Industries and Managing Director of Surya Nepal, said he was happy to see such an important discussion on CSR.

"It is seen that some kind of collaboration between Surya Nepal and other large corporates in Nepal on CSR will help in sustainable development," he said.

At the event, BifCap Nepal CEO Manoj Regmi informed that the funds received from the CSR Summit will also provide financial literacy to 400 entrepreneurs from three districts of eastern Nepal - Bhojpur, Solukhumbu and Khotang.

The event was attended by Nepali parliamentarians, high-ranking officials from the ministry, senior CSR experts from India and Nepal, heads of various banks and financial institutions, and representatives of the private sector.

It was organized by BIFCap Nepal and organized by 'G' (dZi) Foundation.
