Instagram Launches 'Referrals' Program To Boost User Growth And Competition

May 25, Kathmandu- Instagram, owned by Meta, has adopted a new strategy to attract new users to the app. The company recently launched a new program called ‘Referrals’. Under this plan, if the programmer you refer joins Instagram, you can earn money from Instagram.

Under this new scheme, creators can earn money by sharing special referral links. When a new user joins Instagram by clicking on a creator’s link, the creator receives a $100 reward. Additionally, if 1,000 users visit the creator’s Instagram page via these links, the creator earns another $100. Overall, the program offers creators the opportunity to earn up to $20,000 (approximately 273,000 rupees).

It is said that the creator can earn up to 20 thousand dollars (about 273,000 rupees) from Instagram's referral program in two ways. If a new user opens an account by clicking on the link provided by the creator, the creator will receive $100. Similarly, if 1,000 users visit the page by clicking on the Instagram link provided by the creator, the creator will also earn $100.

According to Business Insider, the app is asking creators to share links to their profiles, reels, posts, stories, and channels “outside of Instagram,” specifically on other websites and apps like Tiktok, YouTube, Discord, and Substack.

Instagram is facing stiff competition from other apps like Tiktok and YouTube. This new monetization feature is believed to give Instagram a leg up on the competition. It’s unclear whether creators from other countries will be able to use the feature.
