May 27, Kathmandu- Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) MP Ganesh Parajuli has said that the visit visa issue should be investigated seriously as it is not only a matter of corruption but also of human trafficking.
Speaking to media persons at the Parliament Building, New Baneshwor on Tuesday, Parajuli also accused the Home Administration of abetting human trafficking by not investigating the complaint.
He said that since state agencies are involved in the case of selling Nepalese through visit visas through immigration, the resignation of Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak cannot be based solely on ethics.
MP Parajuli accused the Home Ministry of transferring employees overnight to protect employees who were found guilty when the CIAA initiated an investigation into human trafficking through visit visas and tried to arrest them.
He said that since the scope of suspicion linking Home Minister Lekhak to the culprits is wide, he should be forced to resign and brought under investigation. He said, "A high-level investigation committee should be formed to investigate the truth and facts in the said case and strict action should be taken against the culprits."
