May 29, Kathmandu- Nepal Police Club has won a hat-trick of titles in the PM Cup NVA Volleyball League.
Police won the ninth edition of the championship by defeating Top Top New Diamond Youth Sports Club 3-1 in the final held at the Covered Hall in Pokhara today. Police, who took the lead in the first set by 25-20, lost the second set 22-25 and returned to the draw. However, Police regained their rhythm by winning the fourth set with a thrilling 28-26 win and easily defended the title by winning the fourth set 25-14. Police had also defeated New Diamond 3-0 in the league stage. Both teams reached the finals in first and second place respectively.
In the third-place match held today, Everest Club, which fielded three players from Thailand, won the bronze medal by defeating Nepal APF Club 3-1. In the men's category, Police defeated Tribhuvan Army to finish in third place. Both the women's and men's runners-up will receive Rs 400,000 and the third team will receive Rs 200,000. The winning team will be awarded Rs 800,000. The best player in the individual category will receive Rs 50,000 and the best in other categories will receive Rs 25,000.
