Jun 01, Kathmandu - At least 30 people have died in India's northeastern states after torrential rainfall triggered floods and landslides in the past two days.

Eight people have died in Assam and nine in Arunachal Pradesh, according to state disaster management officials. Most of the deaths were due to landslides. Five people have also been confirmed dead in Mizoram state due to landslides. Similarly, six people have died in Meghalaya, and at least two people have died in Nagaland and Tripura.
