Breaking the boundaries of the Constitution through unconstitutional means is inappropriate: Congress

Jun 02, Kathmandu - The ruling Nepali Congress party has said that it is unfair to break the constitution through unconstitutional means.

Speaking after a meeting of office bearers and former office bearers held at the residence of party president Sher Bahadur Deuba at Budhanilkantha on Monday, spokesperson Dr. Prakash Sharan Mahat said this.

Stating that an attempt has been made to break the constitution through unconstitutional means, he said that the concerned parties should take it seriously. Mahat said that the country's constitution was not given as a gift by anyone and was made by the Nepali people.

"The government has said that we should move forward with the issues of amending the constitution. Breaking the constitution through unconstitutional means is unfair. We believe that the concerned parties should take it seriously," Mahat said.

He said that it is their responsibility to protect the constitution made by the people's representatives. Spokesperson Dr. Mahat emphasized that the flaws in the constitution should be corrected based on experience.

"This constitution is not a constitution given by anyone, it is a constitution made by the Nepali people themselves. "Since it is a constitution created through our representatives, it is also our responsibility to protect this constitution," he said.
