Negotiations Begin Between Govt And Transport Entrepreneurs

Jun 02, Kathmandu - Talks have begun between the government and transport entrepreneurs. The talks have begun between the negotiation team formed under the leadership of Krishna Raj Pant, Joint Secretary of the Ministry of Physical Infrastructure and Transport, and the transport entrepreneurs, informed Rabindra Acharya, Information Officer of the Home Ministry.

Earlier today, a meeting held with Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak formed a negotiation team under the leadership of Pant. Transport entrepreneurs had stopped driving vehicles today in protest against the regulations on 'ride sharing' issued by the Gandaki Province government. Due to which, normal life has been affected since morning.

Public buses are operating in the valley on a limited scale. Passengers were waiting for buses on the road as they could not get any means of transport. Transport entrepreneurs have also formed a nine-member negotiation team.

Saroj Sitaula, Senior Vice President of the National Federation of Nepal Transport Entrepreneurs and a member of the negotiation team, informed that a nine-member committee has been formed to hold talks with the government and talks have begun.
