After an office assistant at a hospital gave iron pills to a patient with a headache...

Jun 03, Kathmandu - Locals have locked the Tadi Basic Health Center in Khandachakra Municipality-3, the headquarters of Kalikot district. The health center has been without staff for about two weeks.

The lock was imposed on Monday after an office assistant distributed iron pills to patients with coughs and headaches when they went to get medicine. Locals have complained that the lives of citizens have been played with in this way.

The locals have locked the health institution, saying that they do not come to the office on time and that the government has not provided free medicines to the service recipients.

Locals allege that the employees have repeatedly harassed and threatened the patients of the ward by showing power and access at different times.

Local Khagendra Prasad Pandey said, "We have not received the medicines that the government said would be given free of charge, instead we have had to face threats."
