Jun 05, Kathmandu - Armed Police Force has been deployed in Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) after rumors spread that people's representatives were being blackmailed. The Armed Police Force has been deployed to maintain peace and security.
Security personnel have been deployed at the office after rumors spread that Deputy Mayor Sunita Dangol and Chief Administrative Officer Saroj Guragain were smeared with black ink. The metropolis itself is unaware of who spread the rumor.
Spokesperson for the metropolis, Naveen Manandhar, said that he had also heard rumors of black ink and had received information that armed personnel had been deployed.
Deputy Mayor Dangol has gone to Biratnagar to attend a program, while the administrative officer's mobile is off.
The atmosphere has become tense after the Armed Police Force was deployed soon after the rumor spread.
However, Metropolitan Assistant Spokesperson Nawaraj Dhakal said that what has come out is a rumor. He said, "The rumor that black meat is being rubbed is not true."
According to Dhakal, they came for discussions with Mayor Balendra Shah Balen and that is how the rumor spread.
