Armed Police Seize Chicken

Jun 07, Kathmandu - The Armed Police Force Parsa has seized 7,500 chickens that were illegally smuggled in from the neighboring country of India.

A team deployed from the Armed Police Force, Parsa, seized 75 boxes of banned broiler chicken chicks that were illegally smuggled from India and loaded onto three motorcycles with Indian number plates and were being brought to Nepal this morning from Dakaila Chowk, Bahudarmai Municipality-5.

Devendra Bahadur Singh, Information Officer of the Armed Police Force Nepal Parsa, informed that the seized banned chicken chicks were destroyed in the presence of representatives of the Quarantine Office, local public representatives and media persons.

It is said that preparations are being made to hand over the motorcycle used in the import of the chicks to the Birgunj Customs Office for necessary action.
