Bir Hospital To Provide Free Brain Tumor Surgeries Throughout June

Jun 08, Kathmandu - Bir Hospital is going to perform free surgeries on brain tumor patients throughout the month of June.

The National Brain Tumor Center established at the hospital will perform free surgeries on the occasion of World Brain Tumor Day, said Dr. Sushil Mohan Bhattarai, Assistant Professor and Neurosurgeon of the Department of Neurosurgery at Bir Hospital.

Dr. According to Bhattarai, Bir Hospital performs surgery on 800 to 1000 brain tumor patients every year. He said that to perform the surgery within 48 hours without keeping the brain tumor patients waiting for a long time, the surgery will be performed free of cost by making maximum use of the available manpower and resources.

Currently, patients have to wait for 2 weeks for the surgery.
