Young Man Found Dead Near Institute Of Forestry Studies In Pokhara

Jun 09, Kathmandu- Authorities are investigating the mysterious death of a young man whose body was discovered near the Institute of Forestry Studies in Pokhara Metropolitan City, Ward No. 15.

The incident came to light after local residents reported seeing a blood-covered body lying in the middle of the road. The police arrived at the scene and confirmed that the individual had sustained injuries consistent with a violent attack. Blood was visible on both the face and body of the deceased.

DSP Hari Bahadur Basnet, spokesperson for the District Police Office, Kaski, stated that a hammer was found at the scene and that initial assessments suggest the death was a result of murder. “It appears that the murder was committed with a hammer. The weapon was recovered from the scene, but we have yet to identify the victim as no documents were found,” DSP Basnet said.

The police have initiated an investigation, including the deployment of trained sniffer dogs. However, authorities face challenges in identifying the victim, as no identification documents were recovered, and no locals recognized the individual.

According to reports, the police received a call around 5 a.m. reporting the body’s discovery. Based on witness statements indicating that the area was quiet until around 1:30 a.m., and considering the time the body was found, investigators estimate the incident occurred between 4:00 and 4:30 a.m.

Locals suggest the murder may have taken place overnight. Police officials have assured that further assistance and investigations will follow, including a postmortem examination to determine the cause of death.

The case remains under investigation as authorities work to uncover the circumstances behind the young man’s death.
