Jun 09, Kathmandu - The number of active COVID-19 cases in India has crossed 6,000. According to the Indian media, there are currently 6,133 active cases in India. 378 new infections have been added in the last 24 hours.

144 new cases have been recorded in Kerala, 105 in Gujarat and 71 in West Bengal.

Six people have died in the last 24 hours. Of these, two were from Karnataka, three from Kerala and one from Tamil Nadu.

Two men from Karnataka, aged 46 and 78, who were also suffering from other health problems, died. Both were confirmed to be COVID-19 infected. Three men aged 51, 64 and 92 from Kerala, who had other diseases, died during treatment. A 42-year-old man with diabetes and severe kidney disease died during treatment in Tamil Nadu.

A total of 65 people have died of COVID-19 in India since January 1, 2025. 753 people have recovered from COVID-19 in the last 24 hours.
