Jun 09, Kathmandu - The National Assembly has passed the Ships (Operation and Management) Bill, 2081 BS. In today's meeting of the Assembly, the proposal to pass the bill, submitted by Minister for Physical Infrastructure and Transport Devendra Dahal, was passed unanimously.
Earlier, the meeting had unanimously approved the proposal to ‘discuss the Ships (Operation and Management) Bill, 2081 along with the report of the Legislative Management Committee.’ MPs Suresh Kumar Ale Magar, Rukmini Koirala, Taraman Swar, Dr. Beduram Bhusal and Bishnu Bahadur Bishwakarma participated in the discussion on the proposal.
Responding to questions raised during the discussion on the proposal, Minister Dahal expressed confidence that the presented bill would pave the way for the operation of vessels on inland waterways and extend Nepal's access to the sea through waterways.
The next meeting of the National Assembly will be held on Friday, 10th Jestha, at 1:15 PM.
