Jun 12, Kathmandu - Foreign Minister Dr. Arzu Rana Deuba has said that economic partnership should be advanced through connectivity by accelerating trade, transit, and investment between Nepal and India.
Inaugurating a program organized in Kathmandu today on the Nepal-India Strategic Dialogue, Minister Dr. Rana made this statement. She made it clear that shared prosperity in both countries can be achieved only through joint partnerships and connectivity in various sectors between Nepal and India. She said that the time has come for Nepal and India to transform the connectivity between the two countries into prosperity through various platforms.
Minister Rana, noting that Nepal-India relations are built on the foundations laid at the beginning of civilization, expressed her belief that people-to-people contacts, cooperation, and connectivity between them would help chart a prosperous future for both countries, as their lives are based on shared values, culture, and emotions. She emphasized that Nepal and India should increase their mutual connectivity by investing in roads, railways, waterways, airways, digital infrastructure, and more.
Minister Dr. Rana said that the current global economic landscape is shifting towards a knowledge-based economy, services, and digital platforms. She emphasized that in the coming days, the two countries should also jointly focus their efforts in the areas of digital economy, technology and innovation, modern education, skill development, and creative economy.
