PM Urges To Make Investigation And Prosecution Evidence-based

Jun 13, Kathmandu - Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has urged the government to make investigation and prosecution evidence-based and effective, including the use of technology, to assist in the delivery of justice.

Inaugurating the Third National Conference of Investigating Police and Prosecuting Government Attorneys, Prime Minister Oli urged for investigation and prosecution in a manner that ensures justice is delivered in a manner free from ambiguity based on the facts of the prosecution and evidence.

"To prevent injustice in society and to create a humane and just society through various research studies and research for social good management, it is necessary to formulate timely laws and implement them effectively. For that, there is a need for qualified, competent and honest human resources with appropriate resources and means. The government is committed to providing those materials and opportunities," the then Prime Minister Oli had said. "The police should be clean, impartial and transparent. The government will pay necessary attention to service facilities so that people do not have to think that the facilities are not enough."

Prime Minister Oli said that since criminals use various ideas and technologies to cover up crimes, the police should be equipped with new technologies and resources to immediately take control of criminals, and that flawless investigation by the police will pave the way for justice.

At the conference, attended by the then Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak and Attorney General Ramesh Badal, Prime Minister Oli urged the government to provide equal rights and opportunities through systemic management and focus on development, order and good governance, taking action against the guilty and providing justice to the victims.
