Jun 14, Kathmandu - A tragic incident in Morang has claimed the lives of a couple while they were fishing near their home. Purna Bahadur Limbu, 58, and his wife Phulmaya Limbu, 52, of Sundarharaincha Municipality-7, died after being electrocuted during an attempted fishing with electric shocks.
According to Morang Police, the incident occurred around 9:40 a.m. under the Madeli Khola bridge in Sundarharaincha-7. The victims reportedly connected an electric pole to another to generate current and catch fish in the river. Unfortunately, both were electrocuted on the spot.
The bodies have been sent to BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences in Dharan for post-mortem examination. Authorities are investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident.
