Britain To Send Fighter Jets To Middle East For 'Regional Security'

Jun 15, Kathmandu - Britain is sending fighter jets to the Middle East in a bid to bolster regional security. British Prime Minister Keir Starmer has said that the Royal Air Force is sending fighter jets to the Middle East.

Prime Minister Starmer made the announcement while traveling to Canada to attend the G7 meeting, according to Reuters. Britain's announcement comes amid heightened tensions after Israel recently targeted Iranian nuclear and military installations and leadership on Iranian soil.

International media outlets have reported that Iran's nuclear and military infrastructure has been extensively damaged in the Israeli operation. Senior officials in the Iranian nuclear and military leadership were also killed during the Israeli operation.

In response, Iran has fired missiles and manned aerial vehicles (UAVs) towards Israel. The Israeli drone attacks have caused damage to infrastructure in Israel, including the city of Tel Aviv, and some people have also been killed.

In such a situation, Starmer mentioned that the UK is going to send military resources, including fighter jets, to the Middle East. The UK has already deployed fighter jets to the Middle East to conduct operations in Iraq and Syria.
