Jun 16, Kathmandu - A school microvan has met with an accident in Kalanki, Kathmandu.
On Monday, at 12:50 pm, an electric microvan crashed into a pillar of the school gate inside the compound of Edify International School in Kathmandu Metropolitan City 14.
Sonakshi Yadav, 9, a native of Sarlahi and currently residing in Kuleshwor, died in the accident. She was taken to Sahid Memorial Hospital for treatment after being seriously injured in the accident.
The hospital declared him dead at 1:36 p.m., said SP Appelraj Bohara, spokesperson for the Kathmandu Police Range.
Seven other people were injured in the accident.
The injured are 8-year-old Reshma Moktan from Lalbandi in Sarlahi, 9-year-old Neshiya Thapa from Ramechhap who currently lives in Swayambhu, 9-year-old Nikisha Dangol from Kirtipur, 11-year-old Simran Khadka from Makawanpur who lives in Kalanki, and 9-year-old Premisa Gharti Magar from Gulmi who lives in Kalanki.
They are undergoing treatment at the National Hospital in Kalanki.
Similarly, Suraj Pokharel, 46, a school principal from Tanahun who lives in Kalanki, and Harka Bahadur Karki, 60, a van driver from Dhanusha who lives in Kalanki, are also injured.
Pokharel and Karki are being treated at the Old Age Hospital in Balkhu, SP Bohara informed Nepal Khabar.
