Jun 17, Kathmandu - US President Donald Trump has made it clear that his early departure from the G7 summit in Washington was not due to a ceasefire attempt between Israel and Iran, accusing French President Emmanuel Macron of falsely linking his departure to a ceasefire.
Trump wrote on his social media account Truth Social, "Wrong! Macron doesn't know why I'm returning to Washington. It has nothing to do with the ceasefire. It's much bigger than that. Whether intentionally or not, Macron is always wrong. Stay tuned." He did not reveal the real reason for the departure.
Trump expressed his anger at Macron on Monday night as he returned from Canada. Macron had claimed that Trump had proposed a ceasefire between Israel and Iran, which led to his departure. Speaking to reporters at the G7 summit in Kananaskis, Canada, Macron said, "Trump has proposed a ceasefire. If the United States can achieve a ceasefire, that would be great. France supports it."
But Trump has denied Macron's claims. He has made it clear that the reason for his departure is not related to the ceasefire, calling Macron a "negotiator." The Israel-Iran conflict was a major topic of discussion at the G7 summit. The summit issued a joint statement calling for a de-escalation in the Middle East and a ceasefire in Gaza. But Trump refused to sign the statement, raising questions about his priorities and strategy.
Trump wrote on Truth Social on Monday, warning Tehran residents, "Everyone evacuate Tehran immediately!" The warning came in the context of an Israeli airstrike on Tehran, which has further increased regional tensions. The White House said Trump's departure was related to the conflict in the Middle East, but did not clarify the real purpose. As the Israel-Iran conflict intensifies, Trump's move and mysterious statements have increased interest and uncertainty around the world.
