Federal Civil Service Bill Being Passed Today

Jun 17, Kathmandu - The Federal Civil Service Bill, which has been eagerly awaited by government employees and the administration sector, is set to be passed today.

In the House of Representatives meeting to be held at 1 pm today, the agenda includes the submission of a motion by Federal Affairs and General Administration Minister Rajkumar Gupta to ‘discuss the Federal Civil Service Bill, 2082 along with the report of the State Management and Good Governance Committee.’ Preparations are underway to pass the bill today after necessary discussions as soon as Minister Gupta presents it.

Last Sunday, Ramhari Khatiwada, Chairman of the State Affairs and Good Governance Committee, presented the ‘Report on the Bill to Make Provisions Regarding the Formation, Operation and Conditions of Service of the Federal Civil Service’ to the House of Representatives meeting.

In the meeting of the House of Representatives on 15th Jestha 2081, it was decided to send the Bill to Make Provisions Regarding the Formation, Operation and Conditions of Service of the Federal Civil Service, 2080, with amendments, to the concerned committee for clause-wise discussion in accordance with the House of Representatives Rules, 2079 BS.

There were 1,530 amendment proposals in the bill. 47 meetings of the committee and subcommittees were held before the bill was passed by the report committee.

The bill passed by the House of Representatives and the National Assembly will be published in the Gazette after being certified by the Speaker. It will then come into effect as an Act.
