More Than 6,000 Children In Baglung Have Been Fully Vaccinated

Jun 17, Kathmandu - All 6,647 children in Baglung, including 3,552 children up to 15 months of age and 3,098 children between 16 and 23 months of age, have been vaccinated.

According to the Chief of the Provincial Public Health Office, Ghanshyam Sapkota, all the vaccines against 13 diseases that children should be vaccinated against within 15 months have been administered. "All local municipalities in Baglung have established health institutions and have been providing vaccinations and other health services to children. In addition to the regular vaccinations given to children, this year we have also administered the HPV vaccine against cervical cancer. We have vaccinated a total of 11,177 people (98 percent), including 11,062 school-going girls from grades 6 to 10 and 11 out-of-school girls from the age of 10 to 14," he said.

Currently, vaccination and sanitation promotion services are being provided every month through 205 vaccination centers and 215 vaccination ‘sessions’ in Baglung district.

Chief Sapkota said that 1,122 children from Baglung Municipality, 772 from Jaimini Municipality, 754 from Galkot Municipality, 1,062 from Dhorpatan Municipality, 795 from Badigad Rural Municipality, 829 from Nisikhola Rural Municipality, 277 from Tamankhola Rural Municipality, 193 from Tarakhola Rural Municipality, 434 from Kathekhola Rural Municipality, and 645 from Bareng Rural Municipality have been fully vaccinated.
