Jun 17, Kathmandu - The Speaker is currently holding discussions with the five major parties in Baneshwor regarding the ongoing obstruction of parliament by the fourth largest party in the House of Representatives, the Rashtriya Swatantra Party (RSP).
The discussions include Minister for Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Ajay Kumar Chaurasia, Deputy Speaker Indira Rana, UML Chief Whip Mahesh Kumar Bartaula, Congress Chief Whip Shyam Kumar Ghimire, Maoist Center Chief Whip Hitraj Pandey, RSP Chief Whip Santosh Pariyar and RPP Chief Whip Gyan Bahadur Shahi.
The Speaker had held separate discussions with Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak, ruling party Chief Whip Bartaula and RSP Chief Whip Pariyar on the issue of clearing the ongoing obstruction in Parliament.
Meanwhile, MPs from various parties have drawn the Speaker's attention to the entry of RSP MPs into the House wearing blue scarves. They have urged for control, saying that there has been a gradual increase in unruly activities in Parliament.
The Speaker said that his serious attention has been drawn to this matter and said that it is the duty of MPs and political parties themselves to abide by parliamentary decorum, and that he is in favor of self-regulation.
