PM Oli’s Efforts To Convene Top Leaders’ Meeting Remain Unsuccessful For Third Day

Jun 19, Kathmandu - Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli’s repeated attempts to organize a meeting of the top leaders of the three major parties have yet to materialize, with no progress made over the past three days.

Despite preparations for a meeting with Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba and CPN-Maoist Center Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda, the efforts have not come to fruition. The meeting has been repeatedly postponed, primarily due to Prachanda’s absence.

The possibility of holding the meeting on Thursday has been discussed; however, it remains uncertain until Prachanda’s participation is confirmed. Prachanda was outside the Kathmandu Valley on Tuesday and Wednesday and was in Chitwan on Wednesday. Although Deuba was prepared to stay for the meeting, it could not be held as Prachanda did not arrive.

The Prime Minister’s secretariat indicated that an afternoon meeting on Thursday has been proposed, but this will also depend on Prachanda’s availability and confirmation.
