Jun 19, Kathmandu - The United States has announced that it will resume the visa application process for foreign students.

The US State Department issued a statement on Wednesday, saying that the application process for foreign student visas will resume soon.

However, the US State Department has stated that the social media accounts of students who apply will be checked.

The US State Department said officials will investigate posts and messages that may be offensive to the US government, culture, institutions or core values. Applicants who refuse to make their social media accounts public could face visa denials.

Last month, the Trump administration temporarily suspended new visa interviews and was preparing to investigate social media.
