Construction of Gwarko Flyover to Begin Tomorrow, Prime Minister to Inaugurate

Jun 19, Kathmandu - The construction of the Gwarko Flyover is set to commence tomorrow following the completion of all construction work, with Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli scheduled to inaugurate the project at 4 pm. Deep Barahi, Director of the Quality, Research and Development Center of the Road Department, confirmed the update.

“All work on the flyover has been completed. The Prime Minister will inaugurate it tomorrow, and vehicles will begin using it immediately,” he stated.

The flyover was constructed by the Ashish-Samanantar Joint Venture. Designed according to international standards, the structure stands at a height of 6 meters. It includes a 280-meter-long ‘RAM’ towards Balkumari and a 175-meter-long ‘RAM’ towards Satadobato. The superstructure of the flyover extends 35 meters and has a total length of 490 meters.

Once operational, vehicles traveling from Mangalbazar to Imadol or vice versa will pass underneath the flyover, while those heading toward the ring road will proceed directly without stopping.

The total cost of the Gwarko Flyover project is approximately Rs. 176,888,888.
