Jun 20, Kathmandu - Pro-Palestinian activists in Britain have claimed to have vandalized a military airbase and damaged two aircraft.
The group Palestine Action said two of its activists entered Brize Norton Royal Air Force Base in Oxfordshire and damaged two Voyager aircraft, which are used for refueling and transporting troops.
The group said in a statement that its activists had reached the plane on electric scooter.
They then used fire extinguishers to spray red paint (symbolizing blood) on the plane and the runway. The group said that further damage was done to the plane using a crowbar.
“The UK, which has been critical of the Israeli government, is still sending military supplies, flying surveillance planes over Gaza and refueling US/Israeli fighter jets,” one activist said.
The group claims that the two activists managed to escape security after damaging the plane.
The British Ministry of Defence and police have not yet commented on the incident. The group has also released a video of the incident on social media.
