Got To Establish 24-Hour Help Desk To Assist Nepalis Returning From Israel-Iraq War Zones

Jun 20, Kathmandu - The government is preparing to set up a 24-hour help desk at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to assist Nepalis seeking to return home amid the ongoing Israel-Iraq conflict.

The help desk will be staffed by officials from the Ministries of Foreign Affairs, Home Affairs, Labor and Employment, and Tourism. This decision was announced following a meeting of representatives from these four ministries held today at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The meeting was initiated by Foreign Minister Dr. Arzu Rana Deuba and attended by Minister for Labor and Employment Sharad Singh Bhandari, along with secretaries from the Home and Tourism Ministries.

Foreign Minister Rana emphasized that Nepalis wishing to return have been urged to register on the portal established by the ministry. She also highlighted that the situation resulting from the war is being taken very seriously.

During the ministerial discussion, deliberations focused on strategies to rescue and facilitate the return of Nepalis stranded or affected by the tense situation in Israel and Iraq.
