BMC Forest Department Investigates Shah Rukh's Bungalow

Jun 21, Kathmandu - Shah Rukh Khan's bungalow Mannat in Mumbai's Bandra Bandstand area was inspected on Friday by a team from the Forest Department and BMC.

According to a report in the Times of India, Shah Rukh Khan was accused of violating the Coastal Regulation Zone rules while building his house. Shah Rukh Khan's bungalow is located on the beach.

Mannat is a heritage property. It has a main bungalow and a multi-storey annex building behind it. Currently, two more floors are being constructed in the annex building.

Shah Rukh and his family are currently staying at some other place nearby. The team met the personnel at the scene. The staff told the officials that all the approvals have already been taken and the documents will be submitted soon.

Meanwhile, Shah Rukh Khan's manager Pooja Dadlani said that there is no complaint about this. She said that the construction work is being done as per the prescribed guidelines. A forest department official informed that a team inspected the spot after receiving the complaint. Now, a report will be prepared on this basis. Meanwhile, a BMC official said that they were present there at the request of the department.

Social activist Santosh Daundkar had earlier complained to the Brihanmumbai BMC about the construction. Former IPS officer and lawyer YP Singh also questioned the construction on Friday. According to Singh, Mannat was originally named Villa Vienna. It is a heritage structure. Later, its name was changed.

According to Singh, a seven-storey building was built behind the bungalow in 2005. At that time, the Urban Land Limits Act was in force. A big building could not be constructed under it. To avoid this situation, approval was taken from the BMC for 12 small flats. After getting the approval, these flats were connected to form a large luxurious house.
