Jun 22, Kathmandu - Two people's representatives have passed away in Udayapur. Hom Bahadur Dahal, ward chairman of Rautamai Rural Municipality Ward No. 2, and Chhabilal Magar, ward member of Tapli Rural Municipality Ward No. 3, have passed away.
According to Rautamai Rural Municipality Chairman Birendra Kumar Magar, both of them passed away on Saturday. Magar, a ward member elected from the Congress, passed away at home, while Ward Chairman Dahal passed away in the hospital.
Ward Chairman Dahal, who was suffering from a heart condition, passed away during treatment, informed Rautamai Rural Municipality Chairman Birendra Kumar Magar. He said, "Ward Chairman Dahal underwent a heart operation at the Teaching Hospital in Maharajgunj. He was also suffering from diabetes and high blood pressure. The operation was not successful due to multiple diseases. He passed away on Saturday."
Dahal, a member of the CPN-UML's Koshi Province Department, was elected as the ward chairman from the CPN-UML in 2079 BS. He was also elected as the VDC chairman from the UML in the Bhuttar Village Development Committee in 2054 BS.
Dahal is survived by a wife and two children. His cremation will be held on Sunday, Chairman Magar informed.
Two municipalities have declared a mourning holiday on Sunday following the death of the people's representative. Dahal's death was in Rautamai Rural Municipality, and a holiday has been declared today in Tapli Rural Municipality due to Magar's death.
