US attack on Iran is an attempt to trigger world war: Maoists

Jun 24, Kathmandu - The CPN-Maoist Center has said that the US attack on Iran is an attempt to trigger a world war. Maoist Center General Secretary Dev Gurung said that they have issued a statement condemning the US attack on Iran.

Leftist parties, including the Maoist Center, and civil society organizations have issued a joint statement, in which they have stated that "American imperialism attacked Iran under the pretext of nuclear weapons and this is a serious war crime."

The left-wing parties have strongly condemned and condemned the US attack on Iran, calling it an attempt to provoke a world war.

“The US attack appears to be an attempt to provoke a world war. This has spread the fear of global war,” the joint statement said.

Even when Israel attacked Palestine last year, they protested, saying that it was "carrying out a massacre in the Palestinian territories, including Gaza." At that time, they launched a campaign against the Israeli intervention in Palestine, in which solidarity with the Palestinian people was expressed.

They believe that Israel attacked Iran again at the instigation of American imperialism before the incident could be resolved. He said that this is not only an interference on Iran's national independence but also a serious violation of international law.

The joint statement was signed by Maoist Center General Secretary Dev Gurung, National Janamorcha President Chitra Bahadur KC, Communist Party of Nepal General Secretary Biplav C, CPN-Unified Socialist Standing Committee Member Balram Baskota, and Revolutionary Communist Party of Nepal PVM Pawan Man Shrestha.

The General Secretary of the CPN (Masal), Mohan Bikram Singh, Coordinator of the Political Dialogue Initiative, Sangeet Shrotra, General Secretary of the Scientific Socialist Communist Party of Nepal, Ahuti, Krishna Prasad Dhamala of the CPN majority, Ram Bahadur Bhandari, Vice President of the CPN, and leftist intellectual Ninu Chapagain have also signed.

The joint statement has appealed for an immediate ceasefire and world peace. It has been expressed that for world peace, peaceful solutions to problems should be sought based on the UN Charter, the principles of Panchasheel and international laws.

In addition, the Nepal government has been strongly demanded to oppose the American and Israeli attacks, stand in favor of independent nations and take immediate initiatives for the safety of Nepalis in Israel and Iran.
