Jun 24, Kathmandu - A detainee has jumped from the third floor of the government attorney's office in Maitighar.

The person who jumped has been identified as Madan Basnet, a resident of Ramechhap, who was arrested on the charge of theft, said District Police Range Kathmandu SP and spokesperson Apilraj Bohara.

On 8th Ashadha, when he was taken for an extension of his term, he jumped from the third floor window.

However, he was injured while jumping and could not escape. He was immediately taken into custody by the police. SP Bohara said that his collarbone was also broken during the jump. The injured person was taken to the National Trauma Center. His treatment is still ongoing.

He was arrested on charges of theft. It is said that he may have been involved in other previous theft cases as well. He was arrested by the Boudha Police Station on charges of theft and taken for an extension of his remand.

The house where he was arrested on charges of theft has also been found to have been robbed before.
