After Bangladesh were bowled out for 247, the home team, who started batting, scored 290 runs for the loss of 2 wickets at the end of the second match.
Opener Pathum Nishanka is at the crease on an unbeaten 146 runs. He is being supported by Prabhat Jayasuriya.
Dinesh Chandimal and Lahiru Udara contributed 93 and 40 runs respectively for Sri Lanka. Bangladesh's Taijul Islam and Naeem Hasan took one wicket each.
Earlier, Bangladesh, who won the toss and batted first, scored 247 runs with Shadman Islam scoring 46 runs. For Sri Lanka, Asitha Fernando and Sonal Dinusha took three wickets each.
The first match of the two-match Test series ended in a draw.
