Jun 28, Kathmandu - The visiting delegation of the Mayor of Shigatse City, China, Wadg Fadg Hudg, arrived in Bharatpur on Saturday. The delegation, including the Mayor of Shigatse City, which has sister relations with Bharatpur, was welcomed by Bharatpur Metropolitan City Mayor Renu Dahal at her office.
Shigatse City Mayor Wadg Phadg Hudg and Bharatpur Metropolitan City Mayor Renu Dahal held discussions on further enhancing cooperation between the two municipalities. The meeting discussed mutual interests and possible cooperation between the two cities and China.
Chief Dahal said that since the establishment of diplomatic relations between friendly countries China and Nepal, China has always been positive about Nepal's infrastructure development in education, health, as well as the economic and social sectors.
Metropolitan City Mayor Dahal proposed cooperation from Shigatse City and China in waste management in Bharatpur. He said that the practice of high technology, green city, time management and effective waste management in all areas of Shigatse City is being gradually carried forward in Bharatpur Metropolitan City. We are expecting cooperation from here, especially in waste management, she said. Mayor Dahal urged China to create an environment for more and more tourists to visit Bharatpur.
Similarly, Mayor of Shigatse City, Hudg, mentioned that he is trying to further develop business relations with Bharatpur Metropolitan City. He said that Shigatse is trying to import green farming products produced in Bharatpur. He also said that since Bharatpur is naturally very beautiful, he will invite tourists from China to visit Bharatpur.
Shigatse and Bharatpur established sister city relations in Kartik last year.
