Jun 28, Kathmandu - The 'Pakistan-Nepal Children's Park' built by the Pakistani Embassy has been operational since yesterday. The park, built in Ward No. 8 of Budhanilkantha Municipality, Kathmandu, was handed over by Pakistan's Ambassador to Nepal Abrar H. Hashmi.
Addressing the event, Ambassador Hashmi appreciated the partnership with Budhanilkantha Municipality for the implementation of the Pakistan-Nepal Children’s Park and the Embassy team for upgrading the children’s park with play stations, swings and a new walking track, a space for all ages. He said the park was dedicated to the children of the Gulfutar community as a “gift from the children and people of Pakistan.”
The mayor and special guests expressed their gratitude to the government and people of Pakistan for gifting their municipality a children’s park. They expressed their belief that the park will be a symbol of lasting friendship and cooperation between the two countries. They believe that the “Pakistan-Nepal Children’s Park” will serve as a lasting reminder of the shared aspirations and friendship between the people of Pakistan and Nepal.
Civil society participants and residents thanked the embassy and the local municipality for renovating the park with new equipment and landscaping. They said that children and people of all ages now have a place to engage in healthy activities.
This is the third park that the Embassy has renovated in collaboration with Kathmandu and Budhanilkantha municipalities in the past three years. These places are said to be suitable for family gatherings, children playing, and the elderly taking a walk.
The handover ceremony was attended by Mitharam Adhikari, Mayor of Budhanilkantha Municipality, other embassy officials, and locals.
