Thai PM Paetongtarn Shinawatra Suspended

Jul 01, Kathmandu - Thailand's Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra has been suspended by the Constitutional Court after pressure to resign over leaked phone conversations with Cambodia's former leader Hun Sen.

The controversy began when Patongtarn Shinawatra criticized a Thai military commander and called him "uncle" in a telephone call. This led to a court case seeking the dismissal of Prime Minister Patongtarn Shinawatra.

Thousands of people took to the streets of Bangkok to protest against her, demanding her resignation. However, Shinawatra apologized for the phone call.
