Jul 01, Kathmandu - Apple is set to make a significant change to its decade-long design with its upcoming iPhone 17. According to a well-known leaker, the company is preparing to change the location of its logo on the back of the iPhone for the first time.
A leaker named ‘Majin Bu’ has made this information public via social media X and his blog. According to him, the Apple logo on the iPhone 17 Pro will be much lower than its current position. That is, slightly lower than the center on the back of the device.
The main reason for this change is the new camera design that is said to be coming to the iPhone 17. The iPhone 17 will have a ‘full-width camera bar’ that will span the entire width of the back. Various reports have mentioned that due to this new design, it will be impossible to keep the logo in its current location, so it is being moved to the bottom. The new camera design is also said to move the flash and LiDAR scanner to the right edge of the device.
The change in the logo's location seems to be inconvenient for users, especially MagSafe users. Especially since the iPhone 12, the Apple logo has been acting as a signal to properly place MagSafe accessories.
The MagSafe charger has been easy to adjust since the magnetic system of the MagSafe is placed right around the logo. However, the leaker has also come up with a solution for this. According to ‘Majin Bu’, accessory companies have already started preparing for this. In the new cases they produce, they have left a space in the middle of the circular ring of the MagSafe to show the new logo. This means that the MagSafe will be there, but the space for the logo next to it will be empty.
Another leaker, Sonny Dixon, has also confirmed this rumor through digital schematics. Apple has changed the location and style of the logo in the past. From the initial iPhone to the iPhone X, the word ‘iPhone’ was written in English above and below the logo. However, from the iPhone 11, the word was removed and the logo was placed in the exact center of the back. This design was continuously used until the iPhone 16 series.
