Jul 03, Kathmandu - Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has said that he is ready to hand over the post of Prime Minister to Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba ahead of schedule as agreed between the two parties.
Prime Minister Oli, who is on a visit to Spain, made the remarks while addressing a program organized by the Nepali Diaspora Forum at the residence of the Nepali Ambassador in Madrid on Wednesday.
Oli said, "I will lead the government for two years. However, it is not necessary to hand over power only after that period. Instead, I will hand over the post to Mr. Deuba 10-15 days in advance."
He also said that the alliance between the Congress and the UML will continue until the 2005 elections.
During that meeting, Oli wished the Nepalese living in Europe permanently and temporarily. He also suggested that the Nepalis facing difficulties in Europe should return to Nepal and seek opportunities in modern agriculture.
Similarly, Prime Minister Oli has also participated in a program organized by the Nepali Embassy in Spain and the Spanish Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
Oli left for Spain on Asadha 14 to participate in the United Nations' Fourth International Conference on 'Financing for Development'. He is scheduled to return home on Asadha 20 at 4:45 pm.
