One Billion Rupees Civil Healthcare Fund Being Established

Jul 04, Kathmandu - Jaimini Municipality has established the ‘Jaimini Citizens Health Treatment Fund’ with the aim of creating a fund of Rs. 1 billion. Rs. 5 million has been deposited in the fund.

The interest on the amount deposited in the fund will be spent on the treatment of patients in the municipality area.

"The municipality aims to provide treatment to citizens with chronic diseases and diseases that require large sums of money. If Rs. 1 billion is deposited in the fund, free treatment can be provided to citizens within the city. The municipality has adopted a policy of adding money to the fund every year through policies and programs," said Mayor Nara Bahadur Pun.

He informed that the target is to increase the fund to Rs. 1 billion as the treatment of complex diseases including cancer, heart, and kidney diseases is very expensive.
