Three Arrested with Tiger Skin in Dang

Jul 06, Kathmandu - Three individuals were arrested in Khawari, Gadhwa Rural Municipality-6, with a tiger skin early Saturday morning. The arrests were made around 1 a.m., according to Police Inspector Double Bahadur Bam of the Area Police Office, Gadhwa.

The Ward Office Lamahi received information about the illegal purchase and sale of a tiger skin, prompting a joint police team—including officers from the Ward Office and Area Police Office Lamahi—to investigate. The team successfully recovered a tiger skin measuring approximately 9 feet 2 inches in length and 2 feet 3 inches in width.

The suspects have been identified as Bikram Budhamagar (41) of Khawari, Keshavraj Sen Thakuri (53) of Rajpur-1, and Anil Tharu (33) of Bardiya. They are currently in custody at the Ward Police Office Lamahi.

Authorities are preparing to submit the tiger skin and the animal for further investigation at the Division Forest Office in Lamahi.
