Committee Prepares To Pass Education Bill Today

Jul 06, Kathmandu - The Education, Health and Technology Committee under the House of Representatives is preparing to pass the School Education Bill today. Committee Chairman Ammar Bahadur Thapa said that preparations are being made to pass the bill today.

There has been no consensus on the issue of filling posts in the bill. Although the committee reached an agreement to fill posts through 60 percent internal and 40 percent open competition, the teachers have not accepted it.

The Nepal Teachers Federation has maintained that 75 percent of posts should be filled through internal and 25 percent open competition.

Similarly, teachers have demanded that they not be placed under the local level.
