Police Seize 6.5 Kilograms of Heroin Smuggled into Kathmandu from Bangkok

Jul 06, Kathmandu - Police have seized 6 kg 5 grams of white heroin smuggled into Kathmandu from Bangkok.

A team of the Narcotics Control Bureau seized the white heroin on Saturday during a special check of passengers arriving in Nepal by air, said SSP Krishna Koirala, chief of the bureau.

According to him, white heroin was found in the luggage of 65-year-old Indian citizen Rakesh Wahab, who arrived in Kathmandu via a Thai Airways flight.

According to the police, further investigation is underway. Earlier, the drug marijuana used to come from Bangkok several times. According to the officials, while hybrid marijuana used to come from Bangkok earlier, now heroin has also been found to come.

An investigating officer says, “These drugs were about to be smuggled into India via Nepal.”
