Former King Gyanendra Shah Urges Prayers for Nepal on His Birthday

Jul 07, Kathmandu - On Monday, former King Gyanendra Shah emphasized the importance of praying for Nepal and its people during his birthday celebrations at Nirmal Niwas. Speaking to media persons and well-wishers, he expressed gratitude for their warm wishes and called for collective efforts to pray for the nation.

Shah remarked that being a Nepali is not solely determined by birthplace but by the presence of Nepal within one's mind and heart. He stated, "This is the time of year when we face disasters like floods, landslides, and inundation during the rainy season. Water-borne diseases also pose significant threats. Therefore, I urge all my brothers and sisters to remain vigilant and thoughtful."

The former king reiterated that true Nepali identity stems from love and devotion to the country, emphasizing, "Nepal must be within us; only then can we truly be Nepali."

His birthday was celebrated with a large gathering of members of the former royal family, relatives, and supporters. The royalist party RPP, along with other royalist organizations and the general public, attended the event, many carrying bouquets to extend their wishes.
