Jul 07, Kathmandu - The third part of Bollywood's popular franchise film 'Don', 'Don 3', is set to be shot in 2026.
The film, directed by Farhan Akhtar, will begin shooting in January 2026 and will be released in theaters in December 2026, according to Indian media reports.
The film was delayed for various reasons. The first reason was the entry of Ranveer Singh in place of Shah Rukh Khan in the film. After Ranveer was cast in the lead role, there was criticism on social media.
Director Akhtar and actor Singh had decided not to move forward with the film until the situation normalized. Also, the preparations took time as Ranveer needed martial arts training for the film.
Meanwhile, Kiara Advani was cast in Priyanka Chopra's place in 'Don 3'. However, the film's work was again stopped after Kiara became pregnant.
Director Akhtar himself is also acting in the war-themed film '120 Bahadur', which is said to be released on November 21, 2025.
It is reported that 'Don 3' will go ahead after all the preparations are complete. Ranveer is sure to be seen in the lead role. The possibility of Priyanka's comeback, who was initially dropped, has also been discussed.
Earlier, the names of actresses Kriti Sanon and Sharvari Vaag had also come to the fore, but according to the latest report, the producers are preparing to give priority to Kiara again.
'Don 3' is the third part in the series, following 'Don' in 2006 and 'Don 2' in 2011, in which Shah Rukh Khan played the lead role. This time, Ranveer will take over the role, while the rest of the cast is expected to be finalized soon.
