Jul 08, Kathmandu - Two girls have drowned in a pond in Janakpur, Dhanusha.

Police have said that a sister and brother drowned in Bhaiya Pond in Kapileshwor Bazar Tole, Janakpurdham Sub-Metropolitan City-16. They drowned while bathing this morning.

The deceased have been identified as four-year-old Aarohi Kumari Raut and three-year-old Maithili Kumari Raut, said Deputy Superintendent of Police at the District Police Office, Barun Bahadur Singh.

They drowned while bathing in the pond on Tuesday morning.

They were taken out of the pond and taken to the hospital for treatment. The doctors declared them dead upon reaching the hospital. Their bodies have been kept at the Provincial Hospital, Janakpurdham for an autopsy.
