Rasuwa flood: This is the latest update (Photos)

Jul 10, Kathmandu - The floods in Tibet's Lhende River, which merged with the Bhotekoshi, caused great loss of life and property in the Rasuwa region.

The floods have washed away the Miteri Bridge connecting Nepal with China, and roads, electricity, and other services have been disrupted in many places.

Local administrations have said that rescue operations have been difficult due to road collapses in the Rasuwagadhi, Gosainkunda and Timure areas. So far, 136 people have been rescued, including 127 foreigners.

Nine bodies have been recovered while 19 people are still missing, police said.

The Timure-based dry port, four hydroelectric projects, 24 containers, six trucks and 35 EVs have been flooded, according to the District Administration Office, Rasuwa. The flood has blocked roads, making it difficult to deliver relief supplies.

The administration says 1,100 meters of roads have been damaged in 10 places.
